The Drone Trainer Podcast 024 – Gracy Lace

This is episode 24 of The Drone Trainer Podcast! This week we’re going to hear from Gracy Lace from Los Angeles, and discuss how she’s using her drone to shoot for TV and film, as well as working on some pretty awesome virtual realty productions! Anyway, have a listen and subscribe so that you don’t miss this or any of the future podcast episodes!

Los Angeles Drone Pilot - Gracy LaceGracy Lace is based in Los Angeles, but is currently traveling all over the USA capturing drone footage for a wide range of productions. Currently, she’s up in Alaska capturing some drone footage for a wicked virtual realty production featuring bears during the salmon run.

Gracy is currently flying the DJI Inspire 2, with her fleet also including the Mavic Air and Phantom 4. Listen in to see why she’s flying the X5 camera system instead of the X7. She’s also looking to get into drone search and rescue with LA County!

When I asked Gracy what her tips were for someone looking to get into the entertainment industry, she stressed capturing smooth footage. She also said that she can spot a good drone pilot by how they can control both the drone and camera at the same time. She also takes it up a notch and flies in Sport mode with obstacle avoidance turned off to chase fast moving objects with her drone.
