The Drone Trainer Podcast 027 – Mitchell Clarke

Welcome to episode 27 of The Drone Trainer Podcast! This week features Mitchell Clarke from Australia, who is going to discuss being a drone pilot in Australia. Here’s a quick teaser… his coastline photos are awesome! Have a listen and subscribe on iTunes or Google Play so that you don’t miss this or any of the future podcast episodes!

Mitchell Clarke drone photoMitchell Clarke is another awesome drone pilot that I came across on Instagram a while back, and have been dying to have on the show. If you check out his gallery, you’ll see that he has a combo of some awesome photography skills combined with access to some world class locations!

As we chat about drone photography, we get into shooting AEB (auto exposure bracketing) mode, and Mitchell’s workflow after the shoot. A quick preview is that he’s a big fan of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, and impressively doesn’t use any of his own presets! He works through a photo from start to finish until it looks right, and will only break down and use a preset if he’s completely strapped for time. Check out this beach shot for an example of his edits.

As Mitchell is often flying over the ocean, he gives us his tips about how to keep your drone dry. He even discusses a mishap that he had early in his drone pilot career where he almost lost his drone at sea due to the wind. Listen in to see what he has to say about flying over the water with the wind!
