The Drone Trainer Podcast 030 – Federico Barra
Welcome to episode 30 of The Drone Trainer Podcast! This week I’ve got an ICU doctor from Italy named Federico Barra, who is also a drone pilot in his spare time! Check this episode out and subscribe on iTunes or Google Play so that you don’t miss this or any of the future podcast episodes!
Federico Barra is an Italian intensive care doctor working at the Milan Hospital, who is also a photo enthusiast in his spare time. Checking out his gallery, you can see that he’s a master of both ground based photography and aerial drone photography.
Fede is flying the Mavic Pro, as is shooting a Sony mirrorless camera for his ground based shots. He loves the stability of the Mavic Pro in the wind, as well as the low light capabilities of the Sony mirrorless cameras when he’s not flying his drone.
Did you know that when the Mavic Pro is in return to home mode, that it actually flies faster than normal? Thats an interesting feature that I wasn’t aware of as RTH is something that I’ve thankfully never had to use!
In this episode, Federico chats about how he composes his drone photos. First he looks for a suitable subject, then finds a composition that suits the image, all while flying within the law. He’s also a huge fan of leading lines, as well as shops and boats that create them.
