Welcome to episode 32 of The Drone Trainer Podcast! On this week’s show I speak with Scott Summer, a drone pilot from Owatonna Minnesota! Scott Summer Minnesota Drone Pilot - Golf CourseScott Summer caught my eye as he’s shooting a lot of golf courses, and I wanted to find out how he’s making his connections and shooting all his footage. When you listen to this episode, you’ll hear that he has a lot of connections in the industry due to his prior work, however he also goes over how to develop new business within the golf industry!

Scott started off flying the DJI Phantom 3 4K, but has now made the move to the DJI Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2 models. Why the change? Scott goes into detail to talk about the differences between WiFi connected drones such as the P34K, and the benefits you get from Lightbridge connected drones like the P4P and I2.

If you’re looking to obtain some drone insurance, Scott’s recommendation is with his broker Evan Garmon with Harpenau Insurance. How did he get hooked up with Evan? Basically Evan is a very active member of some of the Facebook drone groups that Scott frequents, and he got to know the person there before he got to know his business. How does that sound for a great marketing effort? Can you think of ways to promote your own business the same way that Evan has? I bet you can!
