The Drone Trainer Podcast 038 – Sinuhe Montoya
Welcome to episode 38 of The Drone Trainer Podcast! This week I’ve got Sinuhe Montoya, a drone pilot who has set up a very intriguing business involving solar panels in San Diego. Check this episode out and subscribe on iTunes or Google Play so that you don’t miss this or any of the future podcast episodes!
Sinuhe Montoya is a drone pilot who saw an opportunity to use his drone to help get solar panels installed. How does that happen? Well, he actually doesn’t invite any of the installers with him, but instead he runs everything through his business DroneQuote. How does that work? Well without giving it all away, he saw a need to eliminate painful in home solar panel sales calls by pre-shooting with his drone. Once a home has been shot, he sends the opportunity out to other installers who then bid on the job! Pretty awesome idea, isn’t it?
Sinuhe discusses how he wanted to find a way to get on the roof, without actually going up there himself. Yeah, we all know you’re thinking that drones are the answer! He has taken it all a step farther and has even developed his own processing software to power DroneQuote, which he was able to have outsourced via freelancer.
Speaking of freelancers, listen in as I discuss a difficulty that I had with a freelancer a few years back! 😀
Anyway, as I said in the introduction, this isn’t an advertisement for Sinuhe’s business, but instead it’s just something I wanted to share with all of you. After listening to the episode I’m sure that you’re either thinking that you want to join him, or your own creative wheels started spinning and you’re going to use the inspiration in your own business. Either way, I’m glad that I could share his story and I hope you enjoyed it! Once you’ve had a listen, feel free to leave a comment below so that Sinuhe and I can hear what you think!
